Tuscany

During this workshop we will photograph some of Tuscany’s most beautiful landscape scenery from our base in the heart of the picturesque Val d’Orcia. We will have five full days of photography. Although most of our photography will be done in and around the Val d’Orcia, we will travel further afield to add variety to the images we take during the workshop.

I have been visiting Tuscany regularly over the past 15 years and have built up an extensive list of great photographic locations. We will explore some of the ancient hilltop towns and villages and also the architecturally rich city of Siena to the north. However, our main aim will be to capture some atmospheric misty landscapes within the Val d'Orcia itself. Weather permitting we will start photographing each day before sunrise and finish at sunset, with a siesta around midday. Image critique sessions and Photoshop demonstrations will be carried out in the middle of the day or during any periods of poor weather.

We will be staying in a beautiful farmhouse hotel in the heart of the Val d"Orcia. This is a very peacful place to relax and review images during the middle of the day. They also run a small cookery school, so the food is rather good as well! Due to it's variety of great locations, superb food and wine, friendly people and relaxing atmosphere this has become one of my favourite landscape workshops! If you're looking for a slightly more relaxing photographic ‘holiday’ with minimal walking required, this is the closest trip I offer to that!
