Provence Workshop
2nd to 8th July 2023 (Sold Out)
During this workshop we will photograph some of the most beautiful landscape scenery in Provence, timed for when the lavender should be in full bloom. In order to photograph a variety of different landscapes and locations we will have two bases. The first will be close to the village of Gordes where we will spend two nights. This area provides access to the more mountainous regions of Provence. The summit of Mont Ventoux in particular is great for layered sunrise shots over the surrounding hills. There are also many opportunities for macro photography of wildflowers and insects at the higher elevations. From Gordes we will also photograph the famous Abbey de Senaque and the Ochre town of Roussillon.
From Gordes we head southeast towards the Valensole Plateau. This area is renowned as one of the best spots to photograph the lavender fields and this will be one of the main goals for this part of the workshop. We will also photograph fields of sunflowers, ancient hilltop towns and the spectacular Gorge du Verdon with its precipitous cliffs and turquoise river.
Weather permitting we will start photographing each day before sunrise and finish after sunset, with lunch and a siesta around midday.
We will have six full days of photography but, as with most of my summer workshops, it will seem much longer!
