Nature
Natural history photography encompasses a hugely diverse range of subjects, many of which require specialised techniques or equipment in order to capture a striking image. The main requirement, however, is a good knowledge and understanding of that subject. Here is a selection of images from my collection showing mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects and wildflowers from around the world.

Eastern Festoon (Allancastria cerisyi)

Small heath (Coenonympha pamphilus)

Spoonwing lacewing (Nemoptera sinuata)

Swallowtail (Papilio machaon)

Banded demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens)

Common Blue Butterfly (Polyommatus icarus)

Wasp Spider (Argiope bruennichi)

St. Kilda Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes hirtensis), Hirta, St. Kilda, Western Isles, Scotland

Brown Argus (Aricia agestis)

Bellied Bright Bush-Cricket Poecilimon thoracicus)
