I run this autumn landscape photography workshop with my colleague Arek Palasinski, who is an accomplished Polish landscape photographer. We will be touring around some of the most picturesque parts of Poland. The trees will be starting to turn colour and there is a good chance of misty and frosty mornings. The workshop will begin in Krakow where we will explore the old part of the city. On the second day we will head towards the spectacular Tatra Mountains, close to Poland’s border with Slovakia where we will have three days to explore. There are many traditional wooden buildings, reflecting lakes, beautiful rivers and forests in this region, often with a background of imposing jagged mountain peaks. We have a great choice of photographic locations to head to in this region depending upon the weather. We will be heading up to one high mountain peak via cable car, and to a beautiful mountain lake via horse and cart! Finally we head back for the last night in Krakow, which will give us another opportunity to photograph the old part of the city, with it’s ancient buildings, cathedral and castle. Expect long days out in the landscape starting well before sunrise and ending after sunset. We will photograph a great variety of subjects during the course of this workshop – mountains, forests, traditional villages, castles, wooden churches, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and autumnal close-ups such as fungi. We do not plan to hike any great distance during this workshop, but I reasonable level of fitness will still be required.
