During this workshop we will be photographing some of Italy’s most beautiful mountain landscape scenery. Weather permitting we will start photographing each day before sunrise and finish after sunset. Landscapes will be the priority during this workshop, but we may also photograph architecture, flowers, fungi and other close-ups when the weather conditions dictate.
I will be running the workshop with my colleague Arek, who has been photographing the Dolomites region for many years and is also a skilled photographer. As with all my trips, this will be an intensive photography workshop where we will try to fit in as much as possible. We may also have to spend time waiting for good light.
The workshop price is based mainly upon single occupancy of en-suite rooms, apart from the times we might stay in mountain huts overnight (in which case we would normally be sharing rooms with bunk beds). The mountain huts can (weather permitting) provide some really spectacular images, so in our opinion it is well worth the inconvenience!
Subject to change due to weather/seasonal conditions
We arrive at Treviso or Venice airport and transfer to the Dolomites region. We will immediately take the chair lift up to a mountain hut at 2752m, where we will spend our first night. From here we have a high altitude photo session close to the mountain hut before sunset. Dinner is included this night. We will do some night photography if skies are clear enough.
After a sunrise photo session on the mountaintop we will have breakfast and take the chair lift down. We then transfer to the South Tyrol region and my favourite location in the Dolomites, Alpe di Siusi. After lunch we will have an afternoon photo session on the largest wild alpine meadow in Europe, with jagged mountain peaks as a backdrop. Dinner is included this night. We may do some night photography if skies are clear enough.
After a sunrise photo session we have breakfast and then transfer to the South Tyrol Val di Funes area. From here we spend the afternoon photographing the beautiful Tyrol churches with the Alps in the background.
Over the next two days we will be photographing in various mountain landscape locations with lakes and reflections. On the evening of 23rd we transfer to our next hotel, surrounded by mountains and a lake.
During the final two days we will be photographing the beautiful areas of the East Dolomites including; Passo Giau, Cinque Torri and Lago di Misurina.
We will have a possible sunrise photography session (depending upon flight times) before transferring to Treviso or Venice airport.
