During this workshop we will photograph some of the most picturesque landscape scenery in the UK. Each day we will start before sunrise and finish photographing after sunset, so expect to be out and about from 5.00am. We will return to base to rest and review images in the middle of the day. At this time of the year the spring foliage will be fresh and green, providing a nice contrast within the landscape. Hopefully we will also get changeable weather with impressive clouds and dramatic light. There will also be a reasonable chance of misty mornings. We will be photographing mountain and moorland, rivers and waterfalls, limestone pavement, villages, stone bridges, patterns in the landscape, trees and woodland and much more during this workshop! I will demonstrate techniques such as painting with light, using long exposures and how to find compositions within the landscape. There will also be the opportunity to photograph red grouse at close range. Image critique sessions will be carried out as required and when time permits. Photoshop techniques will be discussed and demonstrated during any periods of poor weather or light.
During the workshop we will be based in a large luxury self-catering cottage with panoramic views over picturesque Swaledale. Everyone has a separate en-suite bedroom. We will have five full days of photography. During this time we'll travel extensively across The Dales and, depending upon the weather, possibly beyond. The sheer variety of landscapes within the Yorkshire Dales National Park makes this one of my favourite workshop locations!
