PHOTOGRAPHY TRIPS

Below is my latest photography trip schedule for 2008/09. These trips run alongside my established photographic workshops.

As usual these photography trips will be based on small group sizes with no more than three participants. Each tour will basically allow other photographers to join me on some of my regular photographic trips around the UK and Europe. Subjects covered will include both landscape and nature. Once again this season landscapes are the priority.

I am continuing to keep the cost of these trips as low as possible. You will receive individual tuition as required, although perhaps not quite as in-depth as you would normally expect on one of my main workshops, as I will be working hard at taking photographs as well. For all UK based trips I will be charging each participant a fixed fee of £60 per day and this will include all tuition, guidance and travel costs whilst you are with me. Participants will travel in my vehicle. I will arrange group bookings of accommodation but the cost of accommodation; food/drink and any entrance fees or ferry crossings will not be included. Where possible I will be providing Photoshop tutorials and image critiques during each trip. I will teach specific photographic techniques and would also hope that you will learn from observing the way that I work, especially as I will be able to explain the thought process that goes into making my own images.

My aim over the last two years was to keep departure dates flexible. In theory this allowed me to time trips to coincide with reasonable weather. Unfortunately this didn’t prove to be practical and this time I have decided to set dates in advance. The weather forecasts are so unreliable that this should not prove to be too much of a problem. Some of my best images last year were taken when the weather forecast was terrible! There are a couple of trips that are very weather dependent and I will therefore have to leave the dates for these flexible. Most trips will run over an extended weekend - usually Friday to Monday. Others are midweek so that the locations we visit will be quieter.

If you would like more information about any of these trips please don't hesitate to get in touch. If you would like to register interest in any trip just drop me an email and I will forward more information along with a booking form. Bookings will be confirmed as soon as I have received your completed booking form along with a small deposit.

2008/09 Photography Trips

West Coast of Scotland Trip:

26th January to 2nd February 2008 (FULL)

Landscape photography in winter. The exact locations visited will depend upon the weather conditions at the time. If there is snow then we will concentrate on snow scenes in the mountains. If there is no snow we will head up to the north west coast to concentrate on windswept beaches, sunsets and coastal landscapes. This trip will last a full week.

Northumberland: 24th to 27th February 2008

(2 PLACES LEFT)

Coast, Castles and Eider Ducks. We will explore the Northumberland coast photographing Lindisfarne Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle, St.Mary's Lighthouse and some particularly tame Eider Ducks!

Gower/South Wales Coast: 15th to 17th March 2008

Landscape photography primarily along the coast. We will explore this region’s sandy beaches and rocky coves, making the most of the early morning and late evening light.

Cornwall: 29th to 30th March 2008

Landscape photography primarily along the coast. We will be based close to Land's End and will explore the coves, beaches, lighthouses and fishing villages along both the north and south coast of Cornwall - hopefully with crashing waves and colourful sunsets.

South West Ireland: 20th to 27th September 2008

(1 PLACE LEFT)

Landscapes around the south west coast - including the dramatic coastline of the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. This will be a 4 to 6 day trip travelling via Fishguard and Rosslare.

Wirral: 9th to 12th December 2008

Landscapes, birds and squirrels.

We will photograph lighthouses along the coast as well as huge flocks of wintering wading birds. We will also visit Formby Point to photograph the red squirrels.

North Norfolk: November 2008 to February 2009

(weather dependant)

Birds and landscapes.

This trip is very weather dependent. We will need cold weather to guarantee good shots of thousands of wintering birds. We will visit the coast for wading birds and a little further inland for flocks of wildfowl. We will also try to get some landscape images that are characteristic of the area. I will not be taking deposits for this trip - simply register your interest and I will contact you when a suitable weather window occurs. Those who registered their interest last year do not need to do so again.

Winter Landscapes

Once again I am hoping to make the most of any significant snowfall this winter. Exact locations and dates are weather dependent. If you are interested in shooting snow scenes and are able to leave at a moments notice then please register your interest via email. I will not be taking deposits for this trip. The most likely locations will be Snowdonia, Lake District or Scotland.

West Coast Scotland: January 2009

I have yet to confirm the exact dates for this trip but please register your interest now. I will be concentrating on the Isle of Skye and Glen Coe. This trip will last a full week.
